Historique
L'église paroissiale est située au centre de l'enceinte du bourg médiéval au pied de l'ancien château seigneurial. La construction romane s'est prolongée jusqu'au 13e siècle. Lors des guerres de religion, l'édifice a été incendié. Les élévations ont été reprises à partir de 1600. La nef unique est à trois travées voûtées d'un berceau en arc brisé sur simple doubleaux, mais l'essentiel des murs médiévaux est conservé sous les enduits. Le choeur est à chevet plat, voûté en berceau plein cintre. La chapelle funéraire de Pierre dit Tristan Guilhem II, grand sénéchal de France porte un décor flamboyant rare dans le département. Les peintures murales de la voûte sont dues à Jacques Pauthe (1809-1889), auteur également du décor peint de l'église de Villeneuvette, de la chapelle Saint-Fulcran de l'ancienne cathédrale de Lodève, mais aussi de la collégiale Saint-Rémi de Lautrec et surtout de la cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Perpignan.

History
The parish church is situated in the centre of the enclosure of the medieval town at the foot of the old seigneurial castle. Romanesque construction continued until the 13th century. During the Wars of Religion, the building was set on fire. The elevations were taken up again from 1600. The single nave has three bays vaulted with a barrel vault on pointed arches with simple doubleaux, but the essential parts of the medieval walls are preserved under render. The choir has a flat chevet, vaulted with a round-arch barrel vault. The funerary chapel of Pierre called Tristan Guilhem II, grand seneschal of France bears rare flamboyant decoration in the department. The mural paintings of the vault are due to Jacques Pauthe (1809-1889), also author of the painted decoration of the church of Villeneuvette, of the chapel of Saint-Fulcran of the former cathedral of Lodève, but also of the collegiate church of Saint-Rémi of Lautrec and especially of the cathedral of Saint-Jean-Baptiste of Perpignan.
