History
Situated on a rocky eminence dominating the plain of the sources of the Mosson, this castle is one of the oldest in Lower Languedoc, mentioned as early as the 11th century. Despite additions from the 19th century, it retains the appearance and attributes of a medieval fortified castle: a rectangular main building flanked by four round corner towers and a square inner courtyard.
