Historique
La maison noble de Balac est mentionnée dès le 14ème siècle. Le château a été reconstruit en 1776. Il s'agit d'un bâtiment rectangulaire type chartreuse surélevé, précédé à l'avant d'un escalier en fer à cheval avec garde-corps en fer et à l'arrière, d'un escalier droit. Les intérieurs présentent des pièces en enfilade, séparées par un couloir central. Le château est flanqué de chaque côté de deux tours carrées avec, à l'ouest, le cuvier et les chais et, à l'est, les logements des employés. La façade antérieure s'ouvre sur l'ancien jardin d'agrément tandis que la partie postérieure du domaine était occupée par le jardin potager. L'ensemble est clos de murs.

History
The noble house of Balac is mentioned from the 14th century onwards. The château was rebuilt in 1776. It is a typical raised rectangular chartreuse building, preceded at the front by a horseshoe staircase with iron handrail and at the rear by a straight staircase. The interiors present rooms in enfilade, separated by a central corridor. The château is flanked on each side by two square towers with, to the west, the vat house and the wine cellars and, to the east, lodgings for employees. The front façade opens onto the former pleasure garden while the rear part of the estate was occupied by the kitchen garden. The whole is enclosed by walls.
