History

The château is attested from the late 16th century. It was the subject of modifications in the last quarter of the 17th century but especially of a partial reconstruction in the late 18th century or at the beginning of the 19th century. The building presents a monumental appearance, a façade with elegant and sober ordonnance and decoration, framed by two dwelling blocks. The neo-Gothic chapel, facing the château, offers fine proportions, refined sculpted decorative elements as well as historical stained-glass windows. The residence overlooks a vast park, designed by the renowned 19th-century landscape architect Bülher, much of whose original layout has been preserved. The outbuildings are organized around a square courtyard accessible by two gates to the south and north. The château houses original decorations in the entrance hall and in the stairwell: caryatids from the Virebent manufactory, original imitation marble on the walls. The drawing rooms as well as the bedrooms have preserved their original wallpapers.
