Lors de sa conversion en 1560, le comtesse de Foix, Jeanne d'Albret, avait été imité par de nombreux seigneurs. C'est le cas de François de Château-Verdun, sénéchal du comté de Foix. La ville demeura un des centres les plus importants de la Réforme dans la région. Elle fut même en 1804, après la loi organique de 1802, le siège du consistoire avant Toulouse. Le temple actuel est le quatrième temple construit à Calmont. En 1835, le président du consistoire commande un projet pour un nouveau templs à l'architecte départemental Jean-Pierre Laffon. Le temple est achevé en 1846.

History
Upon her conversion in 1560, the countess of Foix, Jeanne d'Albret, had been imitated by many lords. This is the case of François de Château-Verdun, seneschal of the county of Foix. The town remained one of the most important centres of the Reformation in the region. It was even in 1804, after the organic law of 1802, the seat of the consistory before Toulouse.
