Historique
Le château est construit par Joseph Abel Couture, dit Couture l'aîné sur les conseils de son maître l'architecte Le Carpentier. Le commanditaire est probablement Louis-Edouard de Lantage de Tressigny qui fut caissier général de la ferme des poudres et salpêtres puis commissaire général des poudres à Rouen, sieur de Couvicourt, où il meurt en 1772.
Description
L'édifice comprend un corps principal, pourvu d'un avant-corps de trois travées à large fronton percé d'un oeil de boeuf aveugle, en moellons enduits et pierre calcaire et des pavillons latéraux limités par des chaînes d'angles à refends, couverts de combles indépendants éclairés par oeils de boeuf. L'entrée est située au pignon Est du bâtiment pourvu à l'étage d'un balcon en ferronnerie ouvragée. Le décor intérieur offre des lignes chantournées pour les trumeaux de cheminée et dessus de portes pourvus de panneaux peints, correspondant aux décors de la première moitié du 18e s.

History
The château is built by Joseph Abel Couture, known as Couture the Elder on the advice of his master the architect Le Carpentier. The patron is probably Louis-Edouard de Lantage de Tressigny who was general cashier of the farm of powders and saltpetre then general commissioner of powders at Rouen, lord of Couvicourt, where he dies in 1772.
Description
The building comprises a main body, furnished with a projecting section of three bays with a wide gable pierced with a blind oculus, in rubble stone with render and limestone and lateral pavilions bounded by corner chains with rustication, covered with independent roofs lit by oculi. The entrance is situated at the East gable of the building provided on the storey with a balcony in ornate ironwork. The interior decoration offers curved lines for the fireplace jambs and overdoors furnished with painted panels, corresponding to the decoration of the first half of the 18th century.
