Historique
La construction du phare de Quillebeuf, achevée en 1862 sur la base des plans établis par l'architecte Léonce Reynaud, est décidée par le ministère des Travaux Publics afin de remplacer l'ancien feu déjà présent en 1817. La tour, en pierre de taille et haute de 14 mètres, présente une forme circulaire et légèrement tronconique. Un escalier à vis mène à la lanterne constituée d'un bâti métallique octogonal et d'un vitrage destiné à protéger l'optique en verre taillé sur éléments de laiton. Une porte basse s'ouvre sur le balcon de veille à garde-corps en fonte. Le phare de Quillebeuf se présente aujourd'hui tel qu'il était en 1905, fait exceptionnel pour un édifice de ce type encore en activité. Il témoigne de l'histoire de la navigation sur la Seine , renforcé en cela par les ex-votos marins préservés dans l'église.

History
The construction of the Quillebeuf lighthouse, completed in 1862 on the basis of plans established by the architect Léonce Reynaud, was decided by the Ministry of Public Works in order to replace the old light already present in 1817. The tower, in ashlar stone and 14 metres high, presents a circular form and slightly tapered. A spiral staircase leads to the lantern consisting of an octagonal metal frame and glazing intended to protect the optical apparatus of cut glass on brass elements. A low door opens onto the watch balcony with cast iron railings. The Quillebeuf lighthouse presents itself today as it was in 1905, an exceptional fact for a building of this type still in operation. It bears witness to the history of navigation on the Seine, reinforced by the preserved marine ex-votos in the church.
