Historique
L'église Notre-Dame de Champ-Dolent est conçue sur un plan rectangulaire, en silex et calcaire. Sa nef, précédée d'un porche ainsi que son chevet plat sont, de façon presque certaine, du 13ème siècle tandis que le chur appareillé avec des blocs peu volumineux de silex et calcaire remonte au 16ème siècle. L'intérieur de l'église offre un volume unique à voûte en berceau reposant sur une sablière moulurée. Seuls les entrais des trois fermes de la nef sont encore visibles. L'artiste François Décorchemont exécuta les vitraux sur le thème de Notre-Dame, en 1967-68. Il s'agit d'une série de huit verrières réalisée peu avant son décès qui s'inscrit dans la parfaite continuité de toutes celles créées par Décorchemont. Elle met ainsi un terme au «cycle marial» prépondérant dans toute l'uvre de l'artiste.

History
The church of Notre-Dame de Champ-Dolent is designed on a rectangular plan, in flint and limestone. Its nave, preceded by a porch as well as its flat chevet are, with near certainty, from the 13th century whilst the choir built with small blocks of flint and limestone dates to the 16th century. The interior of the church offers a single volume with barrel vault resting on a moulded wallplate. Only the tie beams of the three roof trusses of the nave are still visible. The artist François Décorchemont executed the stained glass windows on the theme of Notre-Dame, in 1967-68. It is a series of eight windows executed shortly before his death which is in perfect continuity with all those created by Décorchemont. It thus brings to an end the "Marian cycle" predominant in all of the artist's work.
