Historique
Les vestiges d'une puissante motte féodale, située à proximité de l'actuel château, rappellent l'importance de la forteresse d'origine où Jean sans Terre aurait séjourné. Entre autres propriétaires du fief du Landin, on retiendra la famille Garin de la fin du 15ème à la fin du 17è siècle, à laquelle a succédé l'abbaye de Jumièges avant l'acquisition vers 1760 par l'abbé de Boisemont. Ce dernier a fait planter un parc et bâtir un château qui constitue l'origine du château actuel. Le marquis de Chaumont-Quitry, chambellan de Napoléon III, a donné à l'édifice sa physionomie actuelle entre 1850 et 1860, avec l'avant-corps arrondi couvert d'un dôme et l'ensemble des décors intérieurs. Il a remanié le parc et fait construire la plupart des dépendances.

History
The vestiges of a powerful feudal motte, situated near the present-day castle, recall the importance of the original fortress where John Lackland is said to have stayed. Among other owners of the fief of Landin, note should be made of the Garin family from the end of the 15th to the end of the 17th century, succeeded by the abbey of Jumièges before acquisition around 1760 by the abbot of Boisemont. The latter had a park planted and a castle built which constitutes the origin of the present-day castle. The marquis de Chaumont-Quitry, chamberlain of Napoleon III, gave the building its present appearance between 1850 and 1860, with the rounded front section covered with a dome and the entirety of interior decoration.
