En 1805, la commune de Dieulefit accorda un terrain dans la quartier de Châteauras afin d'y édifier un temple et, le 4 août 1806, un premier culte y fut célébré. Le temple fut finalement consacré le 8 novembre 1810. En 1821, l'orgue ainsi que les tribunes furent aménagés et le plafond remplacé par une voûte en 1831.£Typique des temples protestants de la première moitié du 19ème siècle, il s'agit d'un imposant bâtiment rectangulaire de style néo-classique d'une longueur de 32 mètres sur 24 mètres de largeur. Les baies sont composées de vitraux géométriques entourés de frises de feuillages colorés exécutés par Fulcrand Brunet. Une grille extérieure ceinturant le temple fut retirée au milieu du 20ème siècle.

History
In 1805, the commune of Dieulefit granted a plot of land in the Châteauras district in order to build a temple there and, on 4 August 1806, the first service was held there. The temple was finally consecrated on 8 November 1810. In 1821, the organ as well as the galleries were fitted out and the ceiling was replaced by a vault in 1831. Typical of Protestant temples of the first half of the 19th century, it is an imposing rectangular building of neo-classical style with a length of 32 metres and a width of 24 metres. The openings are composed of geometric stained-glass windows surrounded by friezes of coloured foliage executed by Fulcrand Brunet. An external grille surrounding the temple was removed in the middle of the 20th century.
