Historique
L'abbaye de Goailles reçut, en attribution, en 1202, la commune de Villers-sous-Chalamont dont la présence de l'église pouvait déjà être attestée. La nef de la chapelle daterait d'une période antérieure au 15ème siècle. La façade occidentale est loeuvre de l'architecte Pompée, vers 1850 qui procéda également à l'aménagement du cimetière entourant la chapelle. Il est probable que la chapelle soit l'ultime vestige d'un site aux origines antiques. En effet, de nombreuses urnes cinéraires furent découvertes lors des travaux menés en 1850. Des tombes datées du bas Moyen Age ont également été révélées au début du 20ème siècle. L'édifice présente une façade amortie par la flèche du clocher-porche. History
The abbey of Goailles received, by attribution, in 1202, the commune of Villers-sous-Chalamont, the presence of whose church could already be attested.
