Historique
Mouthe dépendait du prieuré rural qui était à l'origine du développement du val. Une paroisse s'était constituée et développée. L'église du 12e siècle, plusieurs fois agrandie, tombait en ruine en 1730. Le nouvel édifice, établi sur la proposition d'église halle faite par l'architecte Jean-Pierre Galezot, est achevé en 1741. Un clocher-porche en pierre de taille, couvert d'un dôme à l'impériale, précède l'édifice de plan basilical. Aux piliers doriques des grandes arcades correspondent des pilastres dans les collatéraux. Trois marches dédient la dernière travée de la nef au choeur liturgique. Le maître autel s'inscrit dans une abside en cul de four.

History
Mouthe was under the jurisdiction of the rural priory that was at the origin of the valley's development. A parish had been formed and developed. The 12th-century church, enlarged several times, was falling into ruin in 1730. The new edifice, established on the proposal for a hall church made by architect Jean-Pierre Galezot, was completed in 1741. A porch tower in ashlar stone, covered with a dome à l'impériale, precedes the basilical-plan building. Doric pilasters of the great arcades correspond to pilasters in the side aisles. Three steps distinguish the last bay of the nave from the liturgical choir. The high altar is inscribed within an apse en cul de four.
