"Erigée à compter du XIIème siècle, l'église Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens de Teyjat a fait l'objet de remaniements successifs jusqu'au début du XXème siècle. Son plan se compose actuellement d'une nef à chevet plat complétée au Nord par un bas-côté de dimensions égales. Un clocher-tour, abritant sous un porche le portail roman de l'église, remplace depuis 1905 l'ancien clocher-mur et une sacristie a été bâtie en 1911 dans le prolongement de la nef. L'intérieur de l'église, voûté en croisées d'ogives, est orné d'une litre funéraire faisant le tour de l'édifice et de ses piliers. Deux décors peints du début du XVIIIème siècle (l'un porte la date 1710) ornent la chapelle mariale du bas-côté Nord et le chœur. Outre des motifs architecturaux et floraux, ces décors représentent une Vierge au Golgotha et une extrême-onction pour le premier, et deux dignitaires de l'Eglise pour le second. Ce décor XVIIIème recouvre un décor antérieur visible par endroit, notamment derrière le maître-autel où apparait partiellement une Crucifixion."

Description
Built from the 12th century onwards, the church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens in Teyjat underwent successive alterations until the early 20th century. Its plan currently comprises a nave with a flat chevet extended to the north by an aisle of equal dimensions. A bell tower, sheltering beneath a porch the Romanesque portal of the church, has replaced since 1905 the former wall bell tower and a sacristy was built in 1911 in the extension of the nave. The interior of the church, vaulted with rib vaults, is adorned with a funeral scroll running around the building and its pillars. Two painted decorations from the early 18th century (one bears the date 1710) adorn the chapel of the Virgin in the north aisle and the choir. Besides architectural and floral motifs, these decorations represent a Virgin at Golgotha and an Extreme Unction for the first, and two Church dignitaries for the second. This 18th-century decoration covers an earlier decoration visible in places, notably behind the high altar where a Crucifixion appears partially.
