Le château de Guillaume de la Meyfrenie date de 1510. Il se composait d'un corps de logis rectangulaire et de deux tours carrées édifiées selon une diagonale nord-ouest / sud-est. En 1820, un incendie dévasta une part importante du château dont la reconstruction fut entreprise dès 1821. A partir de 1830, l'activité agricole du domaine connut un nouvel essor avec l'introduction de la culture de la vigne et l'utilisation des techniques les plus innovantes. Par ailleurs, les bâtiments de la ferme furent réorganisés de façon plus rationnelle. Le style classique du château tel qu'il apparaît aujourd'hui est le résultat de la campagne de travaux menée au second empire. En 1827, un incendie ravagea la Meyfrenie et nécessita la reprise totale des façades du château et la reconstruction des dépendances. Celles-ci furent rebâties selon une composition rigoureuse et symétrique : autour de la maison du chef de culture, se répartissent les bâtiment viticoles et d'exploitation délimitant une grande cour fermée avec quatre autres cours contiguës. History
The château of Guillaume de la Meyfrenie dates from 1510. It was composed of a rectangular main dwelling and two square towers erected according to a north-west/south-east diagonal. In 1820, a fire devastated a significant part of the château whose reconstruction was undertaken from 1821 onwards.
