Former seat of a seigniory of the Combraille dating in part from the 16th and 17th centuries, enlarged in the form of a fortified castle between 1880 and 1895 by Ludovic Souchard, lawyer in Montluçon. The estate comprises a castle and outbuildings including a stable, a cowshed, a keeper's house with a tall central gabled body and two low lateral wings, a dovecote and a pigsty. The castle consists of an old part possibly dating from the end of the 15th or early 16th century, which was enlarged in the 17th century by a projecting section forming a pavilion. A square turret was added in 1883. To the west, on the site of old buildings demolished in 1883, there was erected in 1895 a neo-Gothic fortified castle, composed of a pavilion in the form of a crenellated keep flanked by a false gatehouse with two asymmetrical turrets and a staircase tower. The castle was abandoned between the two wars. The interior is completely bare of furniture, and presents a decoration of neo-Gothic style (dining room, lounge and vestibule decorated with wainscotting).
