Historique
Le château de Kerninon est situé à moins d'un kilomètre au nord-ouest du bourg de Ploulec'h, en direction du Yaudet, et couvre aujourd'hui une vingtaine d'hectares de terres boisées et agricoles. Il fut durant cinq siècles (1427-1925) la propriété de la famille Le Roux de Kerninon. On retrouve quelques éléments d'un manoir du 15e ou 16e siècle dans le logis actuel, bâtiment reconstruit pour l'essentiel au 18e siècle et jusque dans la première moitié du 19e. Une chapelle et un pavillon 18e marquent l'entrée d'une cour d'honneur, et un colombier s'élève à l'intérieur d'un jardin clos de murs. Cet ensemble est complété par quelques dépendances 19e, notamment des écuries et une ancienne cidrerie.

History
The château de Kerninon is situated less than a kilometre to the north-west of the town of Ploulec'h, in the direction of Yaudet, and today covers about twenty hectares of wooded and agricultural land. It was for five centuries (1427-1925) the property of the Le Roux de Kerninon family. Some elements of a 15th or 16th century manor are found in the current main dwelling, a building reconstructed essentially in the 18th century and into the first half of the 19th. A chapel and an 18th century pavilion mark the entrance to a courtyard of honour, and a dovecot stands within a garden enclosed by walls. This ensemble is completed by a few 19th century outbuildings, notably stables and a former cider house.
