Au centre de l'enceinte s'élevait un donjon aujourd'hui disparu. Délaissée dès le 15e siècle au profit du château de Dinan, la forteresse a servi au 19e siècle de carrière de pierres.

History
Building mentioned in 1034, destroyed by the Duke of Normandy in 1065. It is a fortress built in the second third of the 13th century, according to the royal standards defined by Philippe Auguste at the end of the 12th century. Of trapezoidal polygonal plan, the curtain walls are defended by a semi-circular corner tower, and intermediate horseshoe towers. At the centre of the enclosure stood a keep now disappeared. Abandoned from the 15th century onwards in favour of the château de Dinan, the fortress served in the 19th century as a quarry for stone.
