These boundary stones had the function of delimiting the communal woods and those belonging to the seigneury of Mirebeau. The date 1578 is inscribed on all these boundary stones. To date, 19 boundary stones have been recorded in the forest of Mirebeau, marked with the arms of Chabot-Longwy and of Mirebeau. Nine are erected at the edge of a forest path, at the place called Cognolois, four are situated at the edge of a forest path in the same forest, of which two at the place called La Recourbe and two at the place called Les Baraques. Finally, two boundary stones are positioned at the place called Les Fenottes. These boundary stones measure 26cm x 36cm x 75cm, of which 40 cm stand above the ground.
