L'ancien décor de marbre du choeur de l'église Saint-Pierre-le-marché, a été remonté dans le jardin de la maison sise au n°14 de la rue Voltaire. Cette propriété occupe un espace de terrain qui appartenait, avant la Révolution, au grand jardin du couvent des religieuses de Saint-Laurent. Cette parcelle fut acquise en 1869 par le peintre Alphonse Joseph Charmeil. Sur une portion du terrain, il fit construire le portique destiné à recevoir les marbres, vendus par le curé et la fabrique. L'édicule adopte un plan trapézoïdal reprenant la disposition absidiale à trois pans du choeur de l'église. Chaque panneau est rythmé par deux pilastres à chapiteau ionique. Un entablement de même style couronne le tout. Les emplacements des deux tableaux de Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul qui ornaient primitivement les panneaux latéraux entre les pilastres, sont occupés par des glaces. Dans la partie centrale, qui abritait le tableau de la Cène, ont été plaqués une porte et les anciens éléments du couronnement. Le marché pour la réalisation de ce décor date de 1760. La dorure des chapiteaux, réalisée en 1763, subsiste à l'état fragmentaire.

History
The old marble decoration of the choir of the church of Saint-Pierre-le-marché was reassembled in the garden of the house at no. 14 rue Voltaire. This property occupies a plot of land which belonged, before the Revolution, to the large garden of the convent of the nuns of Saint-Laurent. This parcel was acquired in 1869 by the painter Alphonse Joseph Charmeil. On a portion of the land, he had constructed the portico intended to receive the marbles, sold by the curate and church council. The small building adopts a trapezoidal plan reproducing the three-sided apsidal arrangement of the church choir. Each panel is articulated by two pilasters with Ionic capitals. An entablature of the same style crowns the whole. The locations of the two paintings of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul which originally adorned the lateral panels between the pilasters, are occupied by mirrors. In the central part, which housed the painting of the Last Supper, have been fixed a door and the old elements of the crown moulding. The contract for the execution of this decoration dates to 1760. The gilding of the capitals, carried out in 1763, remains in fragmentary condition.
