Prévu dès 1929, élaboré en 1936, construit de 1938 à 1953 avec diverses interruptions dues à la guerre, oeuvre de Pierre Grizet, cet établissement regroupe aujourd'hui une école élémentaire, une école maternelle, des locaux associatifs et de services, quatre logements de fonction. Il abrite une peinture de l'artiste Gaston Balande (1940). Cet ensemble présente une structure identique à celle du groupe scolaire Paul Doumer, élaboré par Grizet en 1934 (PA000049) , qui dira "Paul Doumer est mon ébauche, Pierre Loti, mon chef d'oeuvre". On y retrouve un principe de division en pavillons bas, limités à un ou deux niveaux, ainsi qu'un style relevant de la modernité des années 1930. Les principes fondamentaux de simplification formelle et de refus de la décoration propres au mouvement moderne y sont appliqués, tempérés dans leur rigueur dogmatique par une abondante et épaisse modénature de corniches, de bandeaux et d'encadrements.

History
Envisaged from 1929, developed in 1936, built from 1938 to 1953 with various interruptions due to war, work of Pierre Grizet, this establishment today brings together an elementary school, a nursery school, associative and service premises, four official residences. It houses a painting by artist Gaston Balande (1940). This complex presents a structure identical to that of the Paul Doumer school group, developed by Grizet in 1934 (PA000049), who said "Paul Doumer is my sketch, Pierre Loti, my masterpiece". There one finds a principle of division into low pavilions, limited to one or two storeys, as well as a style stemming from the modernity of the 1930s.
