History
The town was surrounded in the Middle Ages by a fortified enclosure whose outline it retains, as well as two town gates. The upper portal (west) was reconstructed in the 19th century. The lower portal (east) retained the essential of its medieval dispositions: barrel-vaulted passage, groove intended for the movement of the portcullis, façade defended by cruciform arrow-slits and ornamented with a coat of arms bearing the arms of the Boisset family (15th century).
