The building is known to have been occupied by the printer Jean Macé in the early 16th century. He had an allegorical fresco painted representing pilgrimages from the tradition developed by Guillaume de Digulleville. Located on the first floor, it occupies a space of 1.20m. Two pilgrims in the centre each look in opposite directions towards two feminine allegories representing two spinners (virtue of work and patience). In the foreground, a dog is lying down, its head turned towards the spinner on the left. To the right of the second pilgrim is a tree of life. This scene is to be connected with the development of allegorical travel narratives with an edifying and didactic purpose in France in the 14th and 15th centuries.
