History
Located between Thury-Harcourt and Pont-d'Ouilly, on a promontory which controlled the road to Brittany passing through the Orne on the commune of Vey, the château Ganne comprises the vestiges of a porch tower of the 11th-12th centuries and three enclosures of earth surrounded by ramparts and ditches. The first two enclosures would constitute lower baileys, while the last enclosure supporting the keep fitted with a porch tower would be the residential part of the castle. This prestigious wooded site, which has been the subject of numerous studies since the early 19th century, was devastated by the storm of 26 December 1999.
