La reconstruction de la prison et du tribunal a été décidée par décret du 25 mai 1811. Les travaux se sont échelonnés de 1813 à 1828, sous la direction des architectes Harou-Romain, père et fils. The reconstruction of the prison and courthouse was decided by decree of 25 May 1811. The work was carried out from 1813 to 1828, under the direction of the architects Harou-Romain, father and son. The neo-classical prison has retained all its interior fittings and constitutes an exceptional testimony to the renewal of prison architecture at the beginning of the 19th century.
