Description
Situé en écart sur les bords de l'étang de Berre, le lavoir est posé sur le sol rocheux, à l'emplacement de la source qui alimente son bassin. Il présente la forme d'une halle sur arcades, voûtée en plein cintre sous une couverture à deux pans en dalles de pierre, ceinturée de solides contreforts. Au centre de la halle, affleurant le sol, le long bassin longitudinal est divisé selon la règle commune en deux bacs : un petit rinçoir en amont, directement alimenté par l'eau propre de la source ; un grand lavoir en aval, dont l'eau sale s'évacue librement dans l'étang par un simple trou percé à la base du mur pignon ouest.

Description
Located in a remote spot on the shores of the étang de Berre, the wash house is positioned on rocky ground, at the location of the spring that feeds its basin. It presents the form of a hall on arcades, vaulted in round arch beneath a roof covering with two slopes in stone slabs, surrounded by solid buttresses. At the centre of the hall, flush with the ground, the long longitudinal basin is divided according to common practice into two tanks: a small rinse tank upstream, directly fed by the clean water from the spring; a large wash house downstream, whose dirty water drains freely into the étang by a simple hole pierced at the base of the west gable wall.
