L'hôtel Olive, sur le cours Puget, fut construit dans la deuxième moitié du XVIIIe siècle par la famille Olive, propriétaires fonciers et négociants en bois installés à Marseille depuis le XVe siècle. Les travaux d'aménagement et d'embellissement, échelonnés tout au long du XIXe siècle, ont été conduits essentiellement par Camille Olive (1794-1876), fils de Pascal. History
The Hôtel Olive, on the cours Puget, was built in the second half of the 18th century by the Olive family, landowners and timber merchants established in Marseille since the 15th century. The works of fitting out and embellishment, spread throughout the 19th century, were conducted essentially by Camille Olive (1794-1876), son of Pascal. The reception rooms are decorated in the various styles of the 19th century, with stucco cornices, fireplaces, wallpapers, marquetry floors, and bear witness to a thorough search for luxury and refinement. At the rear of the building, a large terrace is adorned with a monumental fountain in rocaille style.
