History
The 17th century was the golden age of domestic architecture in Arles in a constrained space, inherited from the Middle Ages. This hôtel is among the hôtels particuliers characteristic of the evolution of Arlesian architecture in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is also an example of "French" architecture. It results from the enlargement of a first hôtel facing onto the rue de la Calade. It is again enlarged from 1760.
