Le phare fut mis en service en avril 1980 et présente la particularité d'être le dernier phare construit en France. Le fût est construit en béton armé et l'éclairage naturel est assuré par des pavés de verre disposés au sud. L'intérieur de la tour abrite l'escalier hélicoïdal ainsi que la cage d'ascenseur permettant l'accès à la lanterne. Au-dessus, la structure s'élargit pour loger les locaux techniques. La plateforme de la lanterne est bordée d'un garde-corps en béton. Au-delà de la lanterne accessible par un escalier métallique, la superstructure en béton renferme la machinerie d'ascenseur.

History
The lighthouse was put into service in April 1980 and has the particularity of being the last lighthouse built in France. The shaft is constructed in reinforced concrete and natural lighting is provided by glass pavers arranged to the south. Inside the tower is housed the helical staircase as well as the elevator cage allowing access to the lantern. Above, the structure widens to house the technical rooms. The lantern platform is bordered by a concrete railing. Beyond the lantern accessible by a metal staircase, the concrete superstructure contains the elevator machinery.
