Historique
Les vestiges en élévation de l'abbaye, fondée au 9ème siècle, se limitent à un bâtiment allongé. Ce corps de bâtiment se compose de deux constructions : un logis rectangulaire édifié au 15ème siècle, adossé à un long corps de logis, également rectangulaire, flanqué de deux tours d'angle, et datant des 17ème et 18ème siècles. Le sous-sol du logis du 15ème siècle renferme un mur en pierre de taille de grande dimension avec joint fin, à appareil double et fourrure. Ce type d'appareil évoque des techniques de construction antique. L'aile ouest a subi deux grandes campagnes de travaux, l'une au 17ème-18ème siècle, la deuxième se situant plus tard, au cours du 18ème siècle. C'est à partir de cette campagne que la cuisine et le réfectoire sont installés avec, à l'étage des chambres pour le pensionnat. Cette distribution est conservée jusqu'à aujourd'hui.

History
The standing remains of the abbey, founded in the 9th century, are limited to an elongated building. This structure consists of two constructions: a rectangular main dwelling built in the 15th century, set against a long rectangular body, flanked by two corner towers, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The basement of the 15th-century main dwelling contains a large dressed stone wall with fine joints, in double and rubble-filled ashlar. This type of ashlar suggests techniques of ancient construction. The west wing underwent two major campaigns of work, one in the 17th-18th century, the second occurring later, during the course of the 18th century. It was from this campaign that the kitchen and refectory were installed with, on the upper floor, rooms for the boarding school. This arrangement is preserved to this day.
