Cette église, du 14ème siècle, est un édifice de style gothique languedocien. Ainsi, l'arc triomphal du choeur est orné de grands personnages de Carmes et Carmélites peints en pied ou en médaillon. Des éléments de sculpture datant de la construction de l'édifice, à la fin du 14ème siècle, subsistent dans la première travée de la nef.

History
This church, of the 14th century, is a building of Languedocian Gothic style. The painted decoration of the whole of the church and the chapels as well as the installation of the altars and statues of the chapels takes place over a period from 1851 to 1877. The Carmelite iconographic programme is coherent, celebrating the great figures of the Order: Elijah, hermit of Mount Carmel, Teresa of Avila and also John of the Cross. Thus, the triumphal arch of the choir is decorated with great figures of Carmelite men and women painted full-length or in medallion. Sculptural elements dating from the construction of the building, at the end of the 14th century, survive in the first bay of the nave.
