L'abbaye fut fondée au début du 12ème siècle et connut une rapide prospérité jusqu'au 14ème siècle avant de subir une éclipse qui dura deux siècles. Elle est rétablie vers 1620, avec une reconstruction partielle de la chapelle ainsi que du « donjon », puis vendue comme bien nationale à la Révolution. A l'heure actuelle, seuls subsistent la chapelle présentant une superposition d'ouvertures romanes et de fenêtres du 17ème siècle, le « donjon », une partie de l'élévation de l'enclos rectangulaire ainsi que des vestiges enfouis.

History
The abbey was founded in the early 12th century and experienced rapid prosperity until the 14th century before undergoing an eclipse that lasted two centuries. It was re-established around 1620, with partial reconstruction of the chapel as well as the keep, then sold as national property at the Revolution. At present, only the chapel remains, presenting a superposition of Romanesque openings and 17th-century windows, the keep, part of the elevation of the rectangular enclosure as well as buried remains.
