Château situé au carrefour des routes de Foix à Lézat et de Pamiers à Saint-Girons, poste de surveillance et de commandement entre le 13e et le 17e siècle. L'accès se fait par une porte surmontée d'un assommoir. Le logis d'habitation porte la marque du 17e ou 18e siècle, et est accessible par un escalier en vis en bois, logé dans une tourelle. Une chambre du château est censée avoir hébergé le futur roi Henri IV. La salle des gardes conserve la trace de graffiti datant sans doute du 17e siècle. En partie centrale de la cour a été percée une large citerne et, en contrebas, subsiste un bâtiment à usage d'orangerie. La chapelle est située au sud.

History
Castle situated at the crossroads of the roads from Foix to Lézat and from Pamiers to Saint-Girons, a post of surveillance and command between the 13th and 17th centuries. Access is via a gate surmounted by a machicolated opening. The main dwelling bears the mark of the 17th or 18th century, and is accessible by a wooden spiral staircase, housed in a turret. A chamber of the castle is said to have lodged the future king Henri IV. The guard room preserves traces of graffiti dating probably from the 17th century. In the central part of the courtyard a large cistern has been pierced and, below, a building for use as an orangery subsists. The chapel is situated to the south.
