Construit entre 1769 et 1772, le palais Hongran, immeuble de rapport à logements dont la porte ouvre sur une cage à jour central et quatre noyaux à colonnes superposées, remarquable tant par ses dimensions que par son décor peint de style Art Nouveau attribué à Maurice Pillard-Verneuil. L'ampleur de la cage d'escalier du 18ème siècle rend l'architecture de cet escalier fort intéressante car il subsiste peu d'éléments de ce type et de cette époque aussi majestueux dans la ville. Le logis du 4ème étage ouest se distingue par son authenticité et sa représentativité. Il renferme encore, en effet, toutes ses huisseries et menuiseries anciennes, ses sols de tommettes, ses quatre plafonds peints ainsi que ses dix sept dessus de porte à sujets paysagers.

History
Built between 1769 and 1772, the Hongran palace, an investment building with apartments whose door opens onto a light-well cage and four nuclei with superimposed columns, remarkable both for its dimensions and for its painted decoration in Art Nouveau style attributed to Maurice Pillard-Verneuil. The scale of the 18th century stairwell makes the architecture of this staircase highly interesting as few elements of this type and era as majestic still remain in the city. The apartment on the 4th storey west is distinguished by its authenticity and representativeness. It still contains, indeed, all its original door and window frames, its terracotta-tile floors, its four painted ceilings as well as its seventeen painted door panels with landscape subjects.
