The church, attested in the 12th century, underwent a building campaign in the early 15th century, of which the porch tower with stone spire remains evidence. However, its current architecture dates essentially to the early 17th century as confirmed by the date 1620 on the bell tower. The nave was restored in the 18th century (date 1754 on a blocked-up door) before further work was undertaken in 1864 to raise the entire building. The artistic interest of the church lies in its interior decoration. The iconographic treatment refers to popular imagery inspired by prints distributed by peddlers traveling through the valley.
