Historique
Le 16 mars 1534, les habitants du quartier de Fouillouse obtinrent de l'archevêque d'Embrun la création d'une paroisse, et la transformation subséquente de leur en église, sur le motif qu'il s'agissait là d'un cure de nécessité. Cette décision emporta la réalisation de travaux qui ont dû s'achever, pour la nef au moins, en 1549 (chronogramme porté sur le linteau du portail ouest). L'église telle qu'elle nous est parvenue peut aujourd'hui sembler modeste de l'extérieur. A l'intérieur néanmoins des sondages ont révélé la présence de peintures murales à fresque qui pourraient dater du 16ème siècle, du niveau des meilleures réalisations en Provence. Celles du mur sud de la nef, égales en qualité et dans un état de conservation excellent, déploient un type de figuration que ne semble pas connaître d'équivalent à ce jour.

History
On 16 March 1534, the inhabitants of the Fouillouse quarter obtained from the Archbishop of Embrun the creation of a parish, and the subsequent transformation of their chapel into a church, on the grounds that it was a matter of a cure of necessity. This decision entailed the carrying out of work which must have been completed, at least for the nave, in 1549 (chronogram borne on the lintel of the west portal). The church as it has come down to us may today seem modest from the outside. On the interior nevertheless, soundings have revealed the presence of wall paintings in fresco which could date from the 16th century, at the level of the finest achievements in Provence. Those of the south wall of the nave, equal in quality and in excellent condition of preservation, display a type of figuration which does not appear to have any equivalent to this day.
