Historique
Le château médiéval, situé au point le plus élevé du bourg, à l'extrémité d'un éperon rocheux, est attesté depuis 1031. L'édifice, appelé rotonde, est en fait le donjon du château : sa construction pourrait se situer entre 1190 et 1210. L'ensemble fortifié est composé d'un mur d'enceinte de forme irrégulière et d'un logis seigneurial fermant au sud une cour rectangulaire avec une citerne au centre. Au rez-de-chaussée du logis, se trouve une salle de quatre travées rythmées par des arcs doubleaux ; au premier étage, reprise au 16e siècle (fenêtres à meneaux, décor peint...). Après la Révolution, le logis est occupé par différents propriétaires (cloisonnements et entresolements du rez-de-chaussée réalisés durant le 19e siècle).

History
The medieval castle, located at the highest point of the village, at the end of a rocky spur, is attested from 1031. The building, called the rotunda, is in fact the keep of the castle: its construction could be dated between 1190 and 1210. The fortified complex is composed of an irregularly shaped curtain wall and a seigneurial dwelling closing off to the south a rectangular courtyard with a cistern at the centre. On the ground floor of the dwelling is a room of four bays rhythmed by double arches; on the first floor, rebuilt in the 16th century (mullioned windows, painted decoration...). After the Revolution, the dwelling is occupied by different owners (partitions and mezzanines of the ground floor carried out during the 19th century).
