"L'exploitation de cette carrière souterraine est attestée depuis le 19e siècle. Elle est surtout notable par sa "chapelle", située dans une niche en demi-cercle de 70 m2. Cet espace cultuel, qui devait être équipé d'un autel en bois ou en pierre de taille, est orné de 18 sculptures, exécutées par les 1er et 3e bataillons du 137e R.I. français en octobre 1917. The exploitation of this underground quarry is attested from the 19th century. It is especially notable for its "chapel", situated in a semi-circular niche of 70 m2.
