Exemple unique de monument élevé à la mémoire de soldats fusillés par ordre de l'autorité militaire. Il s'agit de six soldats du 298e R.I. exécutés en décembre 1914 pour avoir refusé de poursuivre un assaut voué à l'échec. Ces soldats furent solennellement réhabilités par la Cour de Cassation en 1921. Le monument fut élevé par souscription à la suite d'une campagne de presse orchestrée par la Ligue des Droits de l'Homme.

History
Unique example of a monument erected in memory of soldiers shot by order of the military authority. These are six soldiers of the 298th R.I. executed in December 1914 for having refused to continue an assault doomed to failure. These soldiers were solemnly rehabilitated by the Court of Cassation in 1921. The monument was erected by public subscription following a press campaign orchestrated by the League for the Rights of Man.
