The parish church dominates the village. It forms with the habitations grouped on its south side, around a vast courtyard, a conventual ensemble designated under the name of priory-deanery of Saint-Mayeul. The Benedictine priory was founded by Saint-Mayeul, 4th abbot of Cluny. From the Cluniac construction of the 11th-13th century, there remains the choir surmounted by a square bell tower. The main nave was profoundly remodelled in the 19th century. The aisles date from the 14th century; the chapels of the transept arms are from the late 16th and mid 17th century (date 1662 on the entrance door to the south). A sculpted wooden rood screen was moved at the Revolution. In the 19th century, numerous restorations due to the poor state of the building (in particular, vaulting with rib vault of the wooden-roofed nave).
