Construite au début du 20e siècle, par L. Bernard, entrepreneur à Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, la minoterie de Couterne a succédé à un moulin à grains très ancien. En 1919, elle était exploitée par un nommé Croissant et a cessé de fonctionner vers 1984. Elle sert actuellement d'entrepôt. L'ensemble de l'outillage a depuis été démonté. Le bâtiment, à trois étages carrés surmontés d'un étage de comble, est construit en grès. La brique, utilisée pour souligner la régularité des travées, se fait élément de décor.

History
Built at the beginning of the 20th century by L. Bernard, contractor in Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, the mill of Couterne succeeded a very ancient grain mill. In 1919, it was operated by someone named Croissant and ceased operating around 1984. It currently serves as a warehouse. All of the machinery has since been dismantled. The building, with three square storeys surmounted by a roof storey, is constructed in sandstone. Brickwork, used to emphasize the regularity of the bays, becomes a decorative element.
