History
The Priou farm is a major site of Gersoise resistance, where, on 6 July 1944, 76 maquis from Meilhan, members of Doctor Raynaud's group, perished. The commemorative monument inaugurated in 1947 evokes the sacrifice of these resisters. Designed by architects Hébrard and Bienvenu, and executed by the Chamayou company, it features bas-reliefs sculpted by X. Lefebure, X. Letu, L.-G. Buisseret and F. Guinard.
