Maison construite entre 1860 et 1864 pour Emilie Dubois, sociétaire de la Comédie-Française par le baron Haussmann. History
House built between 1860 and 1864 for Emilie Dubois, shareholder of the Comédie-Française by Baron Haussmann. This house, characteristic of bourgeois construction of the Second Empire, has retained its winter garden and summer garden as well as the marquees on the two façades. Its interior arrangement recalls certain theatrical arrangements "in the Italian manner" which refer to the personality of Miss Dubois: inside, the rooms of the two upper levels are distributed around a light shaft called "court in the Italian manner" under a glass roof; the grand staircase is adorned with stained glass of a neo-medieval style, signed Joseph Vantillard; the great drawing room has preserved wainscoting decorated with representations of musical instruments.
