Historique

History
The founding of the abbey dates to 1139. The church dates from the 12th century, completed by a Neo-Gothic choir in 1845. The convent buildings were largely rebuilt in 1711 and 1756, including the barn and the hostelry. Sold in 1792, the abbey sees its church occupied by a blast furnace until 1844, the date when Cistercian monks reinvest the premises. Former hydraulic establishments give way in 1853 to a new mill, built on four levels. The grain is stored on the third floor, the bolting equipment established on the second, the millstones on the first and the mill belfry on the ground floor. Today disused, the mill has retained its interior fittings (transmission elements), though lacking milling machinery.
