Prieuré Saint-Joseph de Châlons fondé en 1614 comme dépendance urbaine de l'abbaye bénédictine d'Avenay. Cloître édifié dans la seconde moitié du 17e siècle. Chapelle reconstruite au début du 18e siècle (1706). Prieuré supprimé en 1788. Les bâtiments accueillent alors l'hospice Saint-Maur, hospice rattaché à l'Hôtel-Dieu en 1846. Installation d'une maison d'éducation pour les orphelins et d'une maison de retraite.

History
Priory of Saint-Joseph of Châlons founded in 1614 as an urban dependency of the Benedictine abbey of Avenay. Cloister built in the second half of the 17th century. Chapel rebuilt at the beginning of the 18th century (1706). Priory suppressed in 1788. The buildings then house the hospice of Saint-Maur, a hospice attached to the Hôtel-Dieu in 1846. Installation of an educational house for orphans and a retirement home.
