Edifice néo-normand construit de 1902 à 1903 pour Jules Berthier, fondateur de la Compagnie havraise des Eaux, pendant la période d'opulence qui a marqué la Sologne de 1890 à 1914. Le Mont-Suzey, avec ses faux pans de bois, est surtout remarquable par le pittoresque de ses parties hautes. On regrettera la disparition des éléments faîtiers en cuivre et la plupart des épis de faîtages en briques vernissées. Ceux-ci vont être restitués par le propriétaire. Le château et ses communs forment un ensemble relativement complet qui illustre bien ce type de villégiature au début du siècle.

History
Neo-Norman building constructed from 1902 to 1903 for Jules Berthier, founder of the Compagnie havraise des Eaux, during the period of prosperity that marked Sologne from 1890 to 1914. Mont-Suzey, with its false timber framing, is chiefly remarkable for the picturesque quality of its upper parts. One regrets the disappearance of the copper roof ridge elements and most of the glazed brick roof cresting. These are to be restored by the owner. The château and its outbuildings form a relatively complete ensemble that well illustrates this type of country retreat at the beginning of the century.
