Historique
Le dépôt d'étalons créé à l'abbaye de Langonnet en 1806 pour le sud de la Bretagne, mal desservi par des routes étroites et peu praticables, est transféré en 1857 à Hennebont dans l'enclos de l'abbaye de la Joie. Le nouveau dépôt connaît une sorte d'inauguration officielle lors de la visite du couple impérial en août 1858. Le Service des Haras ne reçoit alors que cinq hectares avec l'abbaye. Le reste de l'enclos n'est acquis qu'en 1920 et 1921 ; jusqu'à cette date, l'entrée s'effectuait en suivant la rive du Blavet jusqu'à la porterie de l'abbaye. Les haras de Hennebont comprennent sept écuries disposées autour de deux cours ainsi qu'une infirmerie, une forge, une sellerie et les habitations du directeur et du personnel.

History
The depot of stallions created at the abbey of Langonnet in 1806 for southern Brittany, poorly served by narrow and barely passable roads, is transferred in 1857 to Hennebont within the precinct of the abbey of La Joie. The new depot experiences a sort of official inauguration during the visit of the imperial couple in August 1858. The Stud Service receives only five hectares with the abbey. The rest of the precinct is acquired only in 1920 and 1921; until that date, access was made by following the bank of the Blavet to the abbey gatehouse. The studs of Hennebont comprise seven stables arranged around two courtyards as well as an infirmary, a forge, a saddle room and the dwellings of the director and staff.
