Un des premiers carmels fondés en France par Madame Acarie en 1625 (un oratoire conserve encore un décor de peintures murales du 17e siècle). Vendu par adjudication à la Révolution, il devient une manufacture de coton. Les religieuses réintègrent leur monastère en 1823. Réaménagement du couvent à la fin du 19e siècle. Une Mise au Tombeau du 16e siècle, provenant de la cathédrale, est conservée dans la chapelle.

History
One of the first Carmels founded in France by Madame Acarie in 1625 (an oratory still preserves decoration of mural paintings from the 17th century). Sold by auction at the Revolution, it became a cotton factory. The nuns reoccupied their monastery in 1823. Reorganisation of the convent at the end of the 19th century. An Entombment from the 16th century, from the cathedral, is preserved in the chapel.
