Ancienne église paroissiale devenue succursale de l'église d'Ousse à la Révolution, la chapelle Saint-Michel de Suzan s'élève dans une clairière de la forêt landaise, à proximité de fontaines vénérées pour leur vertu curative. Dédiée à Saint-Jean-Baptiste, elle est plus connue sous le vocable de Saint-Michel en raison du pèlerinage et de la foire qui chaque année se déroulent le jour de la fête de ce saint. L'église, composée d'une nef unique d'origine romane comprise entre un clocher-mur et un choeur polygonal du 13e siècle, fut augmentée au 14e siècle d'un vaste porche, puis d'un avant-porche au 18e siècle. Décor de peintures murales du début du 16e siècle dans le choeur, représentant la vie du Christ et du Précurseur.

History
Former parish church which became a subsidiary of the church of Ousse at the Revolution, the chapel of Saint-Michel de Suzan stands in a clearing of the Landes forest, near springs venerated for their healing properties. Dedicated to Saint-Jean-Baptiste, it is better known by the name of Saint-Michel because of the pilgrimage and fair which each year takes place on the feast day of this saint. The church, composed of a single nave of Romanesque origin situated between a porch tower and a polygonal choir of the 13th century, was enlarged in the 14th century by a vast porch, then by an outer porch in the 18th century. Decoration of wall paintings from the beginning of the 16th century in the choir, representing the life of Christ and the Forerunner.
