Soultzmatt connaît une activité liée aux sources minérales dès l'époque médiévale. L'exploitation à des fins thermales a lieu à partir du 17e siècle. L'établissement se développe au cours du 19e siècle (source acquise en 1838 par Louis Nessel qui développe l'activité) : on assiste à la construction vers 1840 du bâtiment administratif, de l'ancien casino et du corps central. Les sources thermales (Nessel et Lisbeth) ont été exploitées et commercialisées et ont donné lieu à la construction en 1891 par Nessel, directeur de l'établissement, de bâtiments spécifiques (halles nord et sud) , en accord avec l'architecture thermale, à la suite d'un incendie.

History
Soultzmatt experiences activity linked to mineral springs from medieval times. Exploitation for thermal purposes takes place from the 17th century. The establishment develops over the course of the 19th century (spring acquired in 1838 by Louis Nessel who develops the activity): there is construction around 1840 of the administrative building, the old casino and the central building.
