Réalisée entre 1884 et 1886 par Philippe Auguste Brion, architecte local, la scierie hydraulique de Ranrupt, comme toutes les scieries vosgiennes, tire de ses propres chantiers les matériaux de son enveloppe, en essentage de planches reposant sur un solin de pierre. L'artisan ou sagard y avait son logement. L'équipement, qui date du début du 20e siècle, comprend un chariot mobile sur rail, sur lequel étaient fixées les grumes, ainsi qu'une scie verticale, les engrenages et les courroies, qu'entraînaient, soit la turbine hydraulique, soit le moteur diesel. History
Built between 1884 and 1886 by Philippe Auguste Brion, local architect, the hydraulic sawmill of Ranrupt, like all the sawmills of the Vosges, draws the materials for its cladding from its own timber yards, with board cladding resting on a stone base. The craftsman or timber worker had his lodging there. The equipment, which dates from the early 20th century, comprises a mobile carriage on rails, on which logs were fixed, as well as a vertical saw, gears and belts, which were driven either by the hydraulic turbine or by the diesel engine. This small workshop ceased operating in 1992.
